e-livestock is a computerized online system that allows the user to have the information about his cattle in real time, from anywhere and at anytime.
The system operates in a dedicated server guaranteeing a fast and reliable access 24 hours a day and from any geographical point by the use of just a simple internet connection.
Such system is composed by an electronic reader, able to read all kinds of electronic identificators, whether it is ruminal or an ear tag. A local data retrieving and storing system, and an ethernet conversor which allows the sending of data to be done directly to the server.
For us to guarantee the reliability of any given information, the system integrates hi-tech devices that automate the retrieval and storage of the data generated in daily-routine tasks or special processes involved in this rural activity.
The selection of such technological complements depends of the productive model that is chosen, according to the needs or possibilities of the client, but we could group them in the following two kinds of devices:
Static devices for Cattleway Control
- LCD Screen and High-Capacity Cattle Balance.
Mobile devices for control elsewhere
- Wireless readers and antennas.
Thanks to the mobility and high-capacity of storage (provided by the data terminal) and the accessibility of the system (done by our networks and the internet) it is possible to virtually extend the administrative center to anywhere, allowing those responsible for data management to do their job even if they are not physically there. With e-livestock you can even monitor the workplace with IP-directionable webcams.
Although given the software and hardware characteristics, the system runs conveniently even when there is no internet connection at all.
It also works well with other animal identificators, like eartags with or without barcodes, but the level of maximum advantage may not be reached with these.
